Creative movement

My blog has featured creativity from a visual arts perspective however an appreciation of the performing arts like drama, music and dance can be analyzed by the visual images that these disciplines portray especially in capturing mood.
On 28th Oct – 2nd Nov. the Youth Production of Phantom of the Opera by Caribbean Theatre Productions will be at Queens Hall. This Is a fine example of universal creativity, I saw students from all different schools along the East-West corridor of Trinidad. This production will showcase this group of very talented students of the performing arts. The creative mind behind this production is Dr. Helmer Hilwig ably assisted by The Phantom Nicholas Gordon and Avril Potter.

I observed the rehearsals for this production and the enthusiasm and talent amongst this group of young people made me feel that the arts were in good hands for the future. Their understanding of the design element of space and mood created a visually pleasing portrayal that captures that ethereal spirit of the phantom.

The Cascade Festival Ballet Company and the Caribbean Theatre Productions company will provide audiences with rich blend of musical voices and ballet that will highlight the creativity that is very much alive in the talented young people of Trinidad and Tobago.
