Creative Competition

Creativity amongst artists is fostered by competition. The visual appearance of the store front of a business is a sign of the success of the business. The creative design of the façade of a business encourages customers to enter as well as informs the customer as to the product that is available to them.
The entertainment industry provides a great avenue for creative facades. I noticed a number of night clubs in the Woodbroke district that have become quite creative in their façade décor. On the corner of Rust Street and Gray Street there was initially one business with an artistic entrance and within a couple of months two other businesses also had creative entrances.
Competition is always healthy because it pushes the human spirit to excel.  In much the same way creativity is pushed to showcase the talent and innovative thought that artists are capable of displaying in different mediums. The three businesses displayed the use of fabric, metal sculpture ( twirl) and three dimensional representative form (lamps) to create a creative façade.
